Bucharest, 17 December 2025 – With more than 30 years of experience manufacturing top-quality industrial coatings, Chimtitan SRL is once again proving that innovation and excellence are written into the company's DNA. Today we are proud to announce the launch of an ambitious undertaking that marks our entry into renewable energy: the 5 MW Fundulea Solar Park.
This project is more than a natural extension of our commitment to superior quality and environmental responsibility — it is a concrete pledge toward a sustainable future. Just as we raised the bar in the industrial-coatings sector with durable, high-performance products, we are now bringing that same rigour and forward-looking vision to the production of clean energy.
Key project details
- Official name: 5 MW Fundulea Solar Park
- Total value: RON 15,228,780 (VAT included) – Non-repayable grant from the Modernisation Fund: RON 4,715,165.12 (roughly 31% of the total) – Chimtitan SRL own contribution: RON 10,513,614.88
- Location: Fundulea, Călărași County, on the plot registered cadastrally as T 42, P5 (Lot 1 and Lot 2), Parcel 6, recorded in Land Book 31396. The entire infrastructure — solar panels and the storage system — will be installed wholly on this plot.
What we are building
The project involves developing a solar power generation capacity of 4.995 MW, complemented by an energy storage system of 1.016 MWh housed in a single container.
Main activities:
- Detailed design and permitting
- Supply and installation of state-of-the-art solar panels
- Installation of inverters, mounting structures and cabling
- Deployment of the container-based energy storage system
- Connection to the national grid and commissioning
- Testing, monitoring and initial maintenance
The electricity generated will be sold commercially, supporting both Romania's energy-transition targets and the reduction of the carbon footprint of industrial activity.

- Official start date: 27 November 2025
- Estimated completion: no later than 31 December 2026
Why now? Why solar?
For more than three decades, Chimtitan has delivered industrial solutions that last and protect the environment. Expanding into renewable energy is the logical next step: we want to be part of the solution, not just part of the problem. The Fundulea Solar Park is our first major project in this field — but certainly not our last.
